Author’s Preface

Mitchell Levy and the publishing house Happy About (happyabout.com) published the first version of this book, “The 2010 Unofficial Voter’s Guide”, in 2010 under my pseudonym, Jane Q Public. As 2013 progressed (sic) and the Congressional quagmire went from bad to worse, then to a government shut-down and near default on the debt, Mitchell and I started talking and decided that this book needed to return, and this time with a spokesperson.

So here it is and here I am. This book is neither red nor blue, left nor right – it is simply a book that represents the frustration of many Americans, who, according to some recent polls, think the entire Congress is at fault and should be replaced.

Congress has 535 people more concerned with 15 second sound bites on the news, posturing and power, and pocketing 30 pieces of silver for their respective re-election campaigns than “to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our posterity.”

I dedicate this book to the Americans who still give a damn.
